Celebrating Eoin Stein’s Incredible Marathon Fundraising for NHP

Celebrating Eoin Stein’s Incredible Marathon Fundraising for NHP

Posted 1st July 2025

Earlier this year, Eoin Stein took on the incredible challenge of running the Chester Marathon, and in doing so, raised over £1,000 for the NHP. We were absolutely thrilled when his employer, Toyota, generously match-funded his efforts with an additional £1,000, bringing the total raised to £2,000.

“I found out about NHP, a brilliant cause, when I was entered into my first half marathon at Alton Towers. The number of people NHP helps and the real difference they make to so many lives is just amazing. When I signed up for my first full marathon in my hometown of Chester, I knew I wanted to give something back. Fundraising for NHP felt like the perfect way to do that. I was aware that Toyota would match up to £1,000 if I could raise that amount, but I never imagined I’d actually reach it. I was so thrilled when I did and even more so when Toyota confirmed the match. It’s such a great initiative, and it makes me proud to work for them. Since then, I’ve completed a couple more half marathons, and I’m sure I’ll be fundraising for NHP again in the future.”

We are incredibly grateful to Eoin for his dedication and to Toyota for their generous support. Donations like these make a huge difference to a charity like ours, helping us continue to support young people leaving care to live independently and thrive.

Aspirational Awards Update
Aspirational Awards Update

In May, the Aspirational Awards panel awarded just over £15,000 to 19 young people across our LHPs. It was inspiring to see such a wide range of ideas, goals and determination reflected in the applications, and a privilege to support more young people as they take their next steps forward. Funding in Round 9 supported training + graduate employment scheme, equipment for a baking business and support for other businesses, sports sessions, music lessons, lifeguard course, and day trips. We have also recently completed a 3 year review of our Aspirational Awards and the impact they’ve had. Over the past 3 years, we’ve awarded over £147,000 to 138 young people (not including figures from our most recent round in May). If you would like to find out more about how to support the Aspirational Awards please get in touch.
